Bluebells, Chandeliers and Stately Homes

My lovely friend Vikki tied the knot this weekend. I couldn't be happier for her. At the moment she will be sunning herself in the Seychelles with her new husband Rob! Jealous? Moi?
Their wedding was filled with organic, natural details such as hand-picked flowers from their garden, twine wound round jars, hand-made wooden seating plans and was set against the backdrop of the magnificent Arley Hall.
I made myself unofficial photographer for the day (the night-time photos got a bit blurry towards the end!)
Here are some of my favourite photos from their beautiful day :)

What a handsome bunch!! Grant, Farmer and Pete strike their best pose

Hens, Markets and Shortbread

I am way behind in my posts as I've had a busy few weekends!

Last weekend I was at 'Magnificent Mairi's Hen Do'... Lots of appendage related fun which took place in the scenic backdrop of Perth. I'm afraid there aren't too many 'suitable' photos to post hehe :)

Feeling more than a bit wooly the day after Pete and I wandered round the new Stockbridge market and bumped into our old friend Jen! She has set up a new bakery buisness called 'Pinnies and Poppy Seeds' - highly recommended, amazingly, delicious shortbread yum!
We bought some yummy curry and hot sauce from this lady....

And some fresh homemade pasta too....

If you look closely, you will see Pete reflected on the cheese stall, happy as a clam, eating his venison pie!

I'm in the process of editing some photos from my next weekend away - the glorious Victoria Anne Jackson's (aka V.A.J) wedding in the ever so post Arley Hall...keep posted :)

New Vintage Wedding Junk

I have been hot on the trail of vintage crockery, and I feel I may have cleared out most of the second hand shops and jumble sales in Edinburgh!

We are up to around 100 settings now, so we only need another 10 and we are done....Although, I've started to think that vintage cutlery and dinner plates would also look awesome!

I drove up to Aberdeen to see my gorgeous new Niece, Mollie a few weekends ago and discovered the Aladdin's Cave of Antiques on the way back! The 'Scottish Antiques and Arts Centre' is halfway between Dundee and Perth and has to be seen to be believed. I was in my element! There were hundreds of antique stalls/outlets under one big roof :)

I finally secured the perfect Vintage bird cage....

(I'm going to fill it with fairy lights, that's my cat Daisy in the background)

An old Mussel carrier....

(Which at the moment is a stylish pet food holder, but will be a flower vessel beside our Seafood Bar)

And this amazing old cigar shaper/shipping case!

(Now I don't normally condone smoking, however I think that one cigar in a blue moon, for a special occasion is all right. So, we are going to lay this out for our guests with cigars inside so they can help themselves).

I've also made this bird tree.....

I must admit, I stole the idea from Elsie 'A Beautiful Mess', which is one of my favourite blogs...But as I am about to become Mrs Sparrow, I feel I have top trumps on all bird related wedding themes :)

Oh! I must also mention, we have a fabulous new wedding planner! Her name is Nikki, she runs a company called Be...Eventful! with her sister and I'm really excited to be working with her. As we are preparing all the food, decor, flowers ourselves, we decided it would be mad to not have an overall boss on the day (that wasn't Pete or I or a family member) so we could relax and enjoy ourselves properly :)
Check out her website here.

More updates soon, pinkie promise!

Love Sarah xx
